Madeline Berger '79

Madeline Berger '79 graduated from Union College in the first decade of co-ed classes. She moved into-and succeeded in-a male-dominated career field, and feels strongly about women standing up and having an impact. "Union helped me design a path, and I credit much of my career to a lesson I learned in a class with Professor Byron Nichols as a first-year student!"
To recognize the part Union played in her success, Madeline has established that her IRA will fund an endowment to support students who will lead in a world of multiple tomorrows. "I don't have kids, and I would like to leave a legacy in my own name," she says.
Making a gift through an IRA is a smart strategy to create a legacy while maintaining flexibility. "This type of gift is adjustable, if needed," says Madeline. "It's helpful for Union to know your plan now, even if it may change down the road." You can make Union the beneficiary of your IRA or use qualified charitable distributions to support the College.
Union alumnae have always been leaders, taken charge and made sure their voices were heard. Join Madeline in making a gift that supports your philanthropic goals and future generations of Union students.
