Peter Durkin '16 Decides to Use His Retirement Account to Advance Union's Work

Peter Durkin's journey with Union started when he was in high school. A member of the Class of 2016, he toured Union at the recommendation of high school classmates who had siblings at the College. That was the start of a relationship that remains strong today.

Peter is still very involved, acting as a mentor for young alumni in politics or the tech industry and donating to and volunteering for The Union Fund. Recently, he made a key decision: to create a planned gift in support of Union.

"I want to do the best I can for the school," he notes. "I asked myself, 'What can I better do with the resources I have?'" Peter decided to set aside an amount in a retirement account now and let it grow, knowing it will be substantial for Union one day, helping future students have the same experience he had.

"Union was such a fond time for me. I want it to be there way longer than I'm here," says Peter. "I have the account and the ability, so why not? It's an easy process-I went to the website, filled out the form, and let the office know-super simple!"

As a young donor, Peter knows that the most important thing is participation, observing, "Any little bit matters and helps, and shows current and future generations how much Union did for us."

We invite you to follow Peter's lead by establishing a gift that supports the things most meaningful to you. Share your intentions so we will be able to answer your questions, ensure that your gift will be used as you wish, thank you properly and welcome you to the Ramée Circle Society.
